The Challenge
As one of the world’s most popular international lingerie brands, French company Etam has a considerable global presence and reputation – the brand sells tens of millions of products a year from over 3700 stores in 54 countries worldwide. Through its international website Etam was selling to customers in dozens of countries, but cross-border e-commerce hurdles prevented it from realising the full potential of its international reach and reputation.
Etam was able to present prices and accept payment in only a single currency – Euros – and supported limited payment methods – only major credit cards and PayPal. The brand offered comparatively expensive shipping rates, and was unable to provide shoppers with a guaranteed tax and duties calculation.
These difficulties were among the cross-border hurdles that prevented Etam from fully capitalising on the international opportunity. It was looking to partner with an experienced cross-border solutions provider that could help grow their international online sales by improving the shopping experience on their website.
